In my research, I pay particular attention to the appreciation of human-centric models for organising work. I strongly believe that in the 21st century, it's absolutely critical that organisations understand the human side of their strategies, systems and processes if they are to survive and thrive.
During this programme, we will take this adage seriously and set out with four objectives to boost your expertise to help you excel in your role as CPO or in a related role.
First, we will start with a fundamental discussion of the nature of work and organisation in the 21st century. We will consider the unique challenges and opportunities of our era as well as the latest insight into how we can manage a modern workforce.
Second, we will then critically consider the intersection between strategy and people. In particular, we consider how people management relates to strategic collaboration, transformation and innovation.
Third, we will extend the insight from strategy into a richer discussion of the broader social context that is so critical for organisational performance. Here, we will pay attention to organisational culture, managing for trust and creating the conditions for creativity.
Fourth, and finally we will zoom out and consider the societal expectations and responsibilities that contemporary organisations need to take seriously.
In particular, we will help you understand how the CPO can ensure that the organisation is not just high-performing but also considered socially virtuous.
I look forward to going on this journey with you, and I truly hope that you will enjoy this programme.
