Welcome to the programme. I'm Dr Federica Amati, Nutrition Topic Lead at Imperial College London, Faculty of Medicine, and a registered public health nutritionist. This programme equips you with evidence-based tools to use food and diet as powerful levers for improving health. It consists of six modules, each covering a key aspect of nutrition.

Module one focuses on nutrition for global public health, including how diet affects chronic disease risk, the gut microbiome, and current challenges in the modern food environment. Module two explores nutrition beyond macronutrients and calories, metabolic health, and healthy dietary patterns.

Module three focuses on applying evidence across the life course, identifying misinformation, and understanding prevention strategies. Module four addresses healthwashing, food policy, labelling, and marketing. Module five examines life-course nutrition from conception through older age. Module six looks toward future nutrition strategies, including personalised nutrition and post-prandial inflammation.

By the end of the programme, learners gain a comprehensive understanding of public health nutrition, dietary trends, and practical tools to improve health. You will reflect on your own diet and food environment and learn how everyday food choices can support long-term health and well-being.
