Hello and welcome to the program. I hope you're ready to begin. Just to get started, let me tell you a bit about what we are going to do in the program over the next few weeks. First, it is composed of six modules presented by three faculty from the Wharton School. We will have activities and assessments, so that we can tell you what you're learning and provide you feedback through how you're doing in those assessments. You will be learning a number of new course concepts and key concepts that help you analyze and design workplace environments and apply those frameworks to real-world situations.

First, we're going to talk about the foundational components of an effective hiring process, bringing the right people into your organization is key. How do we make sure that we're doing that? Thinking about what are the requirements that we need? What are the criteria that we use? What are the methods can we create for having effective interviews? How do we assess the use of new technologies in hiring? How do we make sure we're attracting good candidates and diverse candidates? Many different aspects of hiring, all of which we want to explore. Once people are in the organization, how then do we get the most out of them? So, we're going to spend some time talking about employee engagement. How do we make sure the people feel good about their jobs or are excited to carry them out? How do we manage their performance effectively? So, what are some of the common performance management traps? And how do we avoid them? We want to talk a lot about incentivizing them as well.

So, analyze some of the frameworks that are generally used to design incentive and reward programs, to try and get the kind of motivation and attention to the right questions that are needed in a given organization. We also want to think more broadly about the strategic use of incentives and rewards in order to make sure we're really driving effective performance in the modern workplace. As we move through the program remember, this is part of a global cohort. You should take advantage of it. Each of you has different expertise, you can learn a lot from each other. Use this as an opportunity not only to learn, but to network and build your relationships. We're excited about this; we're excited about what we've put together. We hope you're ready to go. Let's get started.
