Hello and welcome! My name is Rahul Kapoor, Professor of Management at the Wharton School. Over the next six weeks you will join my colleagues and me as we examine emerging technologies and the business implications in various industries.
In the first two weeks, you will join me in module one, as we explore disruptive technologies. You will learn how disruptive technologies enable businesses to design successful products and services and create business value.
Then you will spend two weeks in module two, learning about artificial intelligence with my colleague Sonny Tambe. He will share the basics of machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI. Learn about integrating artificial intelligence in your organization and look at examples of how various industries are successfully implementing these technologies.
In module three, my colleague Lynn Wu will share her knowledge of robotics. There are many misconceptions about the use and role of robotics in the workplace. She will address these concerns in addition to strategies for creating a collaborative workplace for robots and humans.
Finally, my colleague Kevin Werbach will share the basics of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and smart contracts. You will explore blockchain applications for businesses now and in the future.
As with any new technology, there are many challenges to go along with the successes. We will share those with you and with some theories that are grounded in research and systematic evidence that may improve these technologies in the future. Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to reflect on the possibilities for implementing these technologies in your organization. It's time to think about future of technology.
