Andrea Mansano Brings Deep Experience in the Education Technology Industry to Scale High Growth Business

As demand for Emeritus continues to grow, the company has appointed Andrea Mansano as CEO for Latin America. Mansano will work closely with senior leadership to scale Emeritus’ business, including expanding the company’s courses in Spanish and Portuguese and creating an office in Brazil to accelerate its growth.
Emeritus continues to experience rapid growth, with 2x topline growth year-over-year. Last month, the company announced a $650 million funding round that boosted its valuation to $3.2 billion, quadrupling its Series D valuation from August, 2020. In FY21, alone, the company reached learners in 80+ countries and offered programs through partnerships with more than 50 of the world’s top universities, and expanded into K12 education with the acquisition of iD Tech. Â
According to the World Economic Forum on Latin America, the region has the world’s highest skills shortage in the formal economy. Demand for upskilling has skyrocketed in the last two years as more learners are accessing education virtually. Emeritus has established partnerships with the top local universities including, Instituto Centroamericano de AdministraciĂłn de Empresas (INCAE), IPADE Business School, and Insper, Universidad de Los Andres, to provide both online degree and certificate programs. The company is on track to educate more than 100,000 students in the region in the next three years.
Mansano brings to Emeritus more than 20 years of experience leading large IT and education companies. She previously worked with Digital/Compaq/H.P., SAP, and Microsoft. She also served as Latin America President for Education First (EF), the world’s largest private education company, where she was responsible for leading the company’s top region.Â

Mansano graduated with degrees in Business Administration and Economics from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Campinas (PUCC) and holds Masters Degrees in E-Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and Ohio University. She has attended programs on Internet History, Technology, and Security at the University of Michigan, Paradoxes of War at Princeton University, and Real Life Leadership at Hult Ashridge Executive Education.

She is an Advisory Board Member at Vocação, an NGO dedicated to developing people’s skills through working with communities, investing in education projects, conducting professional training courses, and providing services to companies. Mansano is also the founder of EVA- Economic Value Added Business Group- an organization of more than 400 businesswomen dedicated to ensuring C-level female representation in Latina-American companies. The mission of this group is to guarantee each company has female representation in the C-suite.
