Kellogg Executive Education Launches the Chief Digital Officer Program, in Partnership with Emeritus, to Prepare Digital Leaders for the C-Suite

EVANSTON, Ill. – November 1, 2021 — Kellogg Executive Education at Northwestern University has launched a leading-edge Chief Digital Officer Program, designed for senior executives leading digital strategies in their organizations. Launched in partnership with Emeritus, the global leader in making high-quality upskilling education accessible and affordable, the 12-month program will prepare digital leaders for the C-suite through integrated collaborative projects and immersive online modules.

“Our new Chief Digital Officer Program exemplifies Kellogg’s focus on cutting-edge programs that address today’s expertise demands at the highest level of leadership in organizations globally,” says Thomas O’Toole, associate dean of executive education at Kellogg. “It builds on the established strength and rigorous standards of Kellogg’s Executive Education programs and is led by a world-class faculty roster that delivers top-quality content. We are pleased to extend our successful partnership with Emeritus to bring this new program to market.”

Participants in the Chief Digital Officer Program will connect with peers from various industries, industry practitioners, and Kellogg faculty to advance their knowledge in all aspects of digital transformation.

“This program addresses a serious gap seen in most training for senior digital leaders. Technical know-how and process expertise are essential, but only half the battle,” says Kevin McTigue, faculty director of the Chief Digital Officer Program and clinical associate professor of marketing at Kellogg. “This immersive program was purpose-built to address the many skills required for success – from technical skills to new approaches in opportunity identification to the leadership capabilities required to create meaningful change in an organization.  Every module is led by a specific faculty member who not only has deep experience in that specific area, but is also highly regarded for their teaching capabilities from ex-CEOs to best-selling authors.”

The addition of the Chief Digital Officer Program comes at a time of increasing digital transformation happening across businesses, necessitating skilled leaders with business acumen and cross-functional leadership skills that can pave the way for future growth and innovation. As technological changes continue to evolve, this program will challenge participants to drive customer-centric digital strategies while learning essential leadership skills for the C-suite.

“Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing demand for chief digital officers who can lead digital transformation efforts while preparing the company for future technological changes,” says Lisa Rohrer, head of university partnerships at Emeritus. “This program is designed to prepare senior executives for a role that is in huge demand across industries. We are excited to collaborate with the Kellogg School of Management to enable participants to become effective chief digital officers and advance their careers.”

Offered at a tuition fee of US$28,000, the program begins on December 9, 2021. For more information about the program, please visit: https://online.em.kellogg.northwestern.edu/chief-digital-officer
