Hello, I'm Marco DiMaggio, Professor of Finance at Imperial College, formerly at Harvard Business School, and a research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. My work focuses on the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation, particularly blockchain, digital assets, and artificial intelligence.
This course is designed to help financial leaders move beyond AI hype and use AI strategically to create measurable value while managing risk. The real challenge is not access to tools, but knowing where to start, what matters most, and how to deliver value responsibly.
By the end of the programme, you will be able to select appropriate AI models for financial use cases; apply AI to trading, lending, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance; lead AI implementation with governance and measurable ROI; and address issues such as fairness, bias, explainability, and regulation.
The programme includes six modules: AI foundations for finance leaders; AI in trading and investment; AI for lending, credit risk, and alternative data; AI in FP&A and budgeting; AI in fraud and compliance; and strategic AI planning, ROI, and change management.
Throughout the course, you will create practical deliverables including executive briefings, video presentations, visualisations such as SHAP plots, and future-state AI planning documents. AI is now a core leadership competency, and this programme equips you with the tools and confidence to lead ethically and strategically.
