You'll be doing a core program and you will have elective courses that will complement the core program. We'll be using a diverse set of learning tools, frameworks, case studies, action learning and a strategy simulation game. What we really like about the program you're about to go through is that it is firmly rooted in academic frameworks, but it's also deeply informed by practice. So it's really a combination of rigour and relevance.
The core program consists of 16 modules which are organised into 4 pillars, Product vision and Strategy, Customer centricity, business acumen and all the soft skills that you will need to manage relationships to get you oriented. In this program we will be using a tool called the CPO Radar. So the CPO Radar or the Chief Product Officer radar is a 360 degree view of the competencies that are needed to succeed as a Chief Product officer. It is a visual summary of the skills and the knowledge that a CPO should possess in order to carry out their role and their responsibilities. The CPO radar has 4 quadrants. We begin, obviously with the customer, the customer quadrant. This is the North Star for Cpos. Here our focus is on skills related to developing a deep and insightful understanding of customers you choose to serve and the jobs that you want to do for them. This quadrant includes competencies like customer advocacy, customer empathy, customer insights, and strategic foresight.
The second quadrant is the product quadrant. Here our focus is on the products that you will offer to your customers. It includes product vision, product strategy, product innovation, technological innovation, product design, product development, road mapping and product portfolio management.
The 3rd quadrant is the business quadrant. Here our focus is on the business acumen you need in order to succeed as a C level executives. It includes financial analysis, product analytics, mergers and acquisitions as well as talent development.
And finally, the 4th quadrant is leadership. Here the focus will be on soft skills that you need to manage people to manage relationships. This includes how you organise and structure the product organization, how you manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communication skills, influence skills and persuasion skills, as well as executive presence. So the CPO radar is a very nice tool to describe the competencies and knowledge domains. You need to measure and evaluate your skills and competencies to come up with skill gap assessments and your development opportunities, as well as benchmarking yourself relative to your peers.
