Welcome to this programme on managing change in organisations. Like many of you, we are very interested in how organisations change and the role of individual change leaders in helping themselves and their organisations to navigate change. We hope that in our time with you, your interest in this topic is peaked and that many of your questions are answered, and that your reflections will give rise to new insights and questions that you explore as you continue your journey as a leader of change in organisations. My name is Elizabeth George.
And I am Prithviraj Chattopadhyay. We are both professors at Cambridge Judges Business School, the University of Cambridge.
We have both been keen observers of employee attitudes and behaviours in organisations, with a focus on how we work with others who are different from us, and how we navigate different work arrangements.
In this programme, we will provide you with a comprehensive overview of change management in organisations, building on foundational concepts that remained fresh over the years, as well as considering some challenges we face as leaders in dynamic environments in which most of you operate. Some of the topics we will discuss include the process of change, role of individual power and networks in change, internal considerations for enacting sustainable change, cultural change in organisation, and evaluating change efforts.
This is designed for professionals with experience in leading change in organisations who are keen to view change through a human centric lens. It emphasises the essential ingredients needed to make sure that the changes that is envisioned is sustainable over the long term for both the firm and the workforce.
