1. How has the Berkeley Technology Leadership Program enhanced your understanding of emerging technologies?
I work for T-Mobile, the most valuable company in its space in the world. We are part of a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem. The knowledge gained in the Berkeley Technology and AI Leadership Program allowed me to be more conversant within the company and technologically fluent with prospective clients and other technology leaders.
2. Which modules or topics have been most valuable to your work?
The module on artificial intelligence (AI) has been the most topical, and the understanding the course provided me has allowed me to be much more well-informed on the topic. This has had direct benefit, with increased credibility both inside my company and with clients. The module on digital transformation has also been very relevant.
3. Has your participation in the Berkeley Technology Leadership Program influenced how you lead or collaborate at work?
Since my job is not one where these skills will be directly employed, the knowledge gained in the program has led to a better understanding of the topics when discussed at work and has given me more credibility as a knowledgeable and trusted source of information both inside the company and with clients. For example, my understanding of digital transformation has allowed me to be a relevant participant in many discussions with technology leaders both inside the company and externally. That relevance has indirectly increased effectiveness.
4. What aspects of the learning experience stood out most to you?
It’s hard to say what I enjoyed most about the Berkeley Technology and AI Leadership Program, as I found all aspects of it very interesting and engaging. I can’t think of anything I enjoyed more than anything else.
5. Would you recommend this leadership program to your peers, and if so, why?
I would highly recommend it, as I thought it was excellent.
6. What are your next steps in your leadership journey following the program?
I am already at a relatively senior level in my company. I would like to continue to climb within the company or in another company. Making a positive impact is important, so finding leadership roles that will allow me to have an external impact is important.
