Using AI in your day-to-day work has always been a question of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’. And being a part of a dynamic global organization, we at Emeritus adopted the use of AI to enhance our work right at the onset. It has been more than a year of working with the top AI tools in the market, and yet, we have only scratched the surface when it comes to its potential. The options when it comes to AI productivity tools are limitless. And having so many options can sometimes be confusing.
So, we put the matter to vote! We asked our colleagues at Emeritus what the top AI tools were that improved their productivity at work and how they would rate these. And the verdict is here:
1. ChatGPT
What is ChatGPT?
There is nearly no human on this planet who is untouched by the rage that ChatGPT. However, for the uninitiated, it is a GPT-3-based natural language processing tool created by OpenAI that allows users to have human-like conversations with an AI chatbot.
This little personal genie in a digital bottle is the clear winner in terms of popularity among Emeritonians. Nearly 80% of the colleagues we interviewed mentioned that they use ChatGPT and love it.

Fernanda Deyl from the Market Research Team at Emeritus gave this top AI tool a rave review. “The MRCI team has been using ChatGPT for more than a year now. Not only has it replaced other tools we have used in the past (such as Grammarly to proofread text), but we have also been using it to optimize several of our day-to-day tasks, such as analyzing big volumes of verbatim data, quickly writing code and formulas, and even learn new skills and tricks on the go,” she says.
Leanna Biddle from the Career Coaching Services Team echoed Deyl’s enthusiasm for this AI productivity tool. “As a Career Coach, I use ChatGPT daily to support my learners. I use ChatGPT to identify keywords in a job announcement for use in their resumes; I also use it to formulate potential interview questions for an upcoming interview they may have. Recently, when preparing to present a webinar, I used it to create a thank-you email template as an example to share. Overall, I use it to better prepare learners in their overall job search,” she added.

“I like to have full control over tools, so I write my own Python programs combined with different libraries to work with large language models for creating copies tailored to our school’s guidelines and for providing insights on targeting to our performance marketing team,” says Preshit Shetty, VP Marketing, LATAM.

As a tool, Canvas.ai is still very new, and all its nuances are still being discovered. Fernanda Deyl, Senior Manager of market Research, indicated that her team was still in the discovery phase with this tool.
“We have recently acquired a license for a tool called Canvs.ai, which quantifies and analyzes verbatim data, saving us a significant amount of time and enhancing the depth of the insights we acquire from research data,” he clarifies.

Souvik Biswas, Senior Manager, Creative Design, drew our attention to the human vs. AI debate while reviewing Photoshop GenAI. He says, “AI should be used to help reduce routine, clichéd tasks, so one can focus more on creating tailor-made outputs that have a human touch, which AI can not do.”.
“In the long run, AI-generated images and similar content may overwhelm people. They will find joy in less-than-perfect artwork or designs. This is where the designers should spend time and not become too dependent on AI,” he adds.
